Health, Humanity, Turkey

Thanksgiving is an opportunity to do more than eat turkey and pumpkin pie, though I must admit, it is a pretty important part of my day. This year teach your kids to be thankful, charitable and healthy.
You may not have realized it, but when you run races, you're supporting charities. Also, races take more than runners to be successful. There are volunteers signing you in, handing you water, timing you. Find a Turkey Trot near you and run it or volunteer it with your family. You'll be burning off those candied yams before they hit your thighs. You'll be getting the family together to do something other than eat. Most, importantly, you'll be teaching your kids a little something about giving back to the community.
