My Biometric Screening

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Last year at this time, I had really just become a runner. I had finished my Couch to 5k training and completed 2 5k's (Laurel House and a Turkey Trot). And I had done it wearing a lot of my baby weight and a size 10. This year, I went into my biometric screening looking forward to my numbers, because I ran a half-marathon in a size 2. So here they are, all of my numbers...even my weight! The optimal numbers are in parentheses.

  • Total Cholesterol 209 (<200)
  • LDL 115 (<100)
  • HDL 72 (>60)
  • Ratio 2.7 (<3.5)
  • Triglycerides 79 (<150)
  • Glucose 81 (55-99)
  • Blood Pressure 110/68
  • Pulse 78
  • Waist 27 (last year 29)
  • Weight 118...let's remember this was fully dressed and after breakfast and lunch (last year 132)
  • BMI 23.2 (last year 25.8)
I'm sharing my numbers because they're not perfect, however, I worked really hard for them and I am proud!  And I hope that I can plant a seed of inspiration so that you can have better numbers next year too.
